What a tangled web we weave

9/11/2020

The Four Corners expose tonight, focused on the misdemeanours of two of the highest ranking members of our Government. Whilst one of them, the Attorney General can offer up any excuses for the morally repugnant and completely sexist behaviour that he is alleged to have undertaken, I wish to make a comment about the behaviour of Mr Tudge, our Immigration Minister.

Only a few weeks ago Tudge was making changes to our Citizenship tests to reflect “Australian Values”. As he put it then: “Our Australian values are important. They have helped shape our country and they are the reason why so many people want to become Australian citizens. The updated Citizenship Test will have new and more meaningful questions that require potential citizens to understand and commit to our values like freedom of speech, mutual respect, equality of opportunity, the importance of democracy and the rule of law.”

To now find that this same promoter of “Australian” values was an adulterer and a person who campaigned against Same Sex marriages because of their impact on children whilst continuing to have his sexual affair, makes a mockery of our entire citizenship testing and vetting process.

Credibility is completely non-existent at this point from this Minister.
