Janice Panton makes the entirely predictable and yet completely puerile observation regarding the racist “Lady in Waiting” in the Royal Palace that the fact that she has been turfed out of the joint somehow indicates that Windsor Palace is therefore not racist. Let me turn that observation round to its logical corollary and point out that the fact that she has remained in that house for as long as she has (over 60 years) is what demonstrates that the house is utterly racist.
Let us also not forget that she is the Godmother of the current Prince of Wales, William. As I understand it, the role of the Godmother is to impart the faith and Christian tenets to their godchild to allow them to grow within their faith. Can we conclude that she has undertaken this task of her status and imparted similarly racist views to her Godson, Prince William?
Further, for everyone justifying her comments to Ngozi Fulani, let me explain. Ms Fulani is the CEO of a Domestic Violence Advocacy group. She was born in England. She did not come from “somewhere else”. It would not be dissimilar to my sons (Australian born with a mix of heritages including, Indian, Singaporean, Russian and German/Czech and Australian) being questioned as to where they are really from. At what point do they get to call themselves Australian? And what right is it of anyone to question them in the fashion Lady Hussey did Ms Fulani?
I recommend that anyone wanting to comment on this matter seek out the transcript of the conversation and observe the vitriol that was contained within the questions posed by Lady Hussey.
